How to clean your home this Holi?

Holi is one of the most fun and modern Indian celebrations, with its bright colours and gregarious celebrations. As much excitement and joy that the event brings, it also leaves your home a mess after the celebrations have. Even if you limit yourself to playing with colours outside of the home, colours and spots discover their way indoors when you enter the home to fresh up; a apply of gulal along furnishings, coloured water that drains from your outfits onto the ground etc. could leave your home looking the worse for use.

Here is a list of guidelines to avoid durable spots.
1. Sweep any powder that falls to the ground with a brush.
2. If coloured water drains onto the ground, soak the dirt immediately and clean with water to avoid the drop from drying.
3. Sprinkle soap powder over the black shaded spots to fresh up.
4. Clean dried spots with a insert of baking powder and water. Allow the insert to rest over the dirt and wipe with wet sponge after a few minutes.
5. For tough spots, carefully clean with a bristled brush.
6. Use liquid cleaner lightens to fresh spots on white-colored marble flooring.
7. Use cotton wool drizzled with bleach, acetone, or nail polish cleaner to eliminate shaded spots from wood.
8. Powdered colours should be carefully dusted off, or cleaned.
9. Do not apply pressure while removing the powder, as this causes further discoloration.
10. Use a soft bristled brush, or a nylon material scrubber to carefully clean basins, counter tops and tiles with a soap solution.
11. Bathrooms bear the worst of the impact. Use fluid soap  to eliminate spots from white-colored floors; do not use it on shaded or laminated surfaces as the bleach may damage the natural colour. Gently clean bathroom fittings and surfaces with liquid soap.

We hope these simple cleaning guidelines will help you keep your home clean and shining even after Holi celebrations, and the long lasting pointers are of remembrances and celebrations, not spots and discoloured furniture!
